Edify Announces Edify Asia, A Joint Venture With ITApps Limited, To Accommodate the Rapid Growth In Asia
ITApps Limited and Edify Corporation form Edify Asia to market Edify's Virtual Customer Service Representative (vCSR) and the Edify Interaction Center
Santa Clara, Calif., March 12, 2001 - Edify Corporation, an S1 company (NASDAQ: SONE), and a global leader in multi-channel customer interaction solutions, today announced the formation of Edify Asia, a joint venture with ITApps Limited. Edify Asia, a Hong Kong-based corporation, will become the master distributor for Edify Corporation's products and services throughout Asia, excluding Japan. "The growth potential for next-generation, automated customer interaction systems in Asia is enormous," said John Kirst, vice president of marketing and Asia Pacific & Latin America field operations, Edify Corporation. "This joint venture with ITApps, who already has five years of success selling and installing Edify solutions in Asia, is the next step in our strategy to establish a preeminent position across the continent." In the first half of 2001, Edify Asia will establish a reseller network in Asia's principal markets, including Hong Kong, Mainland China, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Republic of Korea, and Indonesia, where prominent customers using Edify products already include the Industrial Commercial Bank of China, Bank of China, Standard Chartered Bank, Citic Ka Wah Bank, Manulife, and AIG. Edify Asia will also provide project management and application design service to their partners and manage a professional services brokerage that will pool resources across the reseller network.
Edify Announces a Joint Venture in Asia
The joint venture will market Edify Enterprise™, a full
function Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system that features
Edify's Virtual Customer Service Representative (vCSR)™ and
the Edify Interaction Center™. The Edify Interaction Center
modules and vCSRs work in conjunction with Edify's powerful multi-channel
platform, Electronic Workforce?7.0, featuring real-time integration
with legacy, desktop-centric systems and existing back-office applications
without replicating data. An organization using the Edify Enterprise
solution can accept incoming customer inquiries from any communication
channel. Messages that can be interpreted by Edify Natural Language
are routed automatically to the appropriate vCSR; messages that cannot
be reliably interpreted are routed to a human representative using
